Stepping back in time!!!

Last week, we all visited Bradford Industrial Museum where we spet the day as a Victorian. We got to experience some of the daily routines of a Victorian child - especially in the schoolroom.

When we stepped inside the Victorian classroom we soon realised it was VERY different to our everyday classroom. We used slate boards and pencils to practise our handwriting. We also used ink pens to perfect our handwriting skills (although some of us got more ink on our hands than on the paper).

We also took a ride on a horse and cart (a traditional mode of transport back in the Victorian times). The shire horses were used to pull HUGE loads of goods to and from the mills as they were so strong. We met Murdock (a 9 year old shire) who carefully pulled us around the grounds of the museum.

A fabulous day out enjoyed by all!
